Last week, a client inquired about which neck cream she should use, and I realized this is an excellent little blog topic! We carry three neck creams and they each have their own unique blend of ingredients and mechanism of action. One isn’t necessarily better than any other, but after learning the details of each product, one may seem better targeted for your primary concerns.
Skin Better’s Face + Neck
If you use Skin Better, you’ve probably noticed the phrase “Interfuse” on some of the bottles. This is their patented technology that aids in the delivery of previously difficult-to-deliver ingredients for better skincare results. Delivery is an issue in a lot of skincare. You can have all the right ingredients, but that doesn’t mean the molecules can make it through the skin barrier. Skin Better has figured out how to do this, and their Face + Neck cream utilizes this technology.
This product is designed to improve the appearance of sagging and crepey skin, and lines and wrinkles on the face and neck, using a blend of peptides delivered deep into the skin. Face + Neck includes neuro-calming and messenger peptides: neuro-calming peptides help with lessening fine lines, and messenger peptides help with nourishing collagen (Face + Neck targets five different types of collagen) for firmer, softer skin.
Peptides in general are small chain amino acids that help bind collagen together. Collagen is what helps skin look plump and what helps skin repair itself. Peptides in skincare can help improve skin firmness and lighten pigmentation. Peptides also send the correct signals for collagen stimulation so the body knows how best to repair the skin (either for actual wound repair or for anti-aging treatments).
Face + Neck also provides a layer of moisture, through a blend of hydrating ingredients (including hyaluronic acid) to give skin a radiant glow.
Skin Better’s Techno Neck Perfecting Cream targets horizontal neck lines caused by tech neck. Tech neck is caused by the head constantly being tilted down as we stare at our phones. While this causes spinal issues, it also causes the cosmetic issue of deepening of horizontal neck lines. Techno was created to deal specifically with this issue, and uses a unique ingredient to tackle the problem: Nitric Oxide. Nitric oxide is a molecule that's produced naturally by your body. Its most important function is vasodilation which causes an increase in circulation.
In the skin, Nitric Oxide: ~Helps to open nutrient and oxygen channels, which is critical to skin health and healing. ~Restores additional blood flow to the skin which results in firmer skin, better texture, less crepiness and laxity, and better hydration.
Additionally, the Techno formulation is enhanced with antioxidants to help reverse environmental damage and protect from further damage, as well as botanical extracts and hyaluronic acid to improve crepiness and elasticity of the skin.
Revison’s Nectifirm is all about supporting the skin’s microbiome, using peptides and antioxidants to combat the visible signs of aging on the neck and décolletage. The skin’s microbiome is an ecosystem of microorganisms that performs and regulates a variety of imperative functions to help keep the skin and body healthy.
Nectifirm employs a unique blend of peptides to reduce the appearance of fatty tissue, crepey skin, and to help improve firmness. Bamboo, English Pea Extract & Glucosamine HC1 help to smooth skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. To support the skin’s natural antioxidant system, Lingonberry Extract is included as well as vitamins C and E for brighter skin. Algae extracts and ceramides help skin retain moisture and tone, as well as reduce dryness.
Sometimes deciding which product to purchase for such a specific concern can come down to brand preference, or even just the consistency of the cream. You can’t go wrong with any of these, as far as quality. Personally, I’m using Face + Neck right now because my main concern for my neck is crepey skin. If horizontal lines is your biggest concern, try Techno. Nectifirm and Face + Neck are great for general firming and lifting of the neck skin. You can check out before and afters here:
