LASER SKIN RESURFACING
Uneven skin tone
Halo is a skin resurfacing treatment that delivers non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to the same treatment zone, giving impressive results without the discomfort or downtime of the older ablative treatments. Halo’s new technology (it is a Hybrid Fractional Laser) is able to treat many issues at one time: visible signs of skin aging from sun exposure, wrinkles, discoloration, scars and laxity.
We also offer an ablative-only laser resurfacing treatment that can be customized to the depth and downtime that are right for you : Nano Laser Peel.
HOW DOES HALO WORK?
Halo is an ablative and non-ablative treatment, so it can treat multiple issues at once. The ablative portion targets the upper layer of skin and focuses on improving pore size and textural issues. The non-ablative portion targets the deeper layers of the skin, addressing deeper sun damage and other pigment issues, and most importantly, stimulates collagenesis (collagen regrowth). Picture the non-ablative portion like aerating a lawn: the non-ablative wavelength penetrates deep into the tissue in multiple channels throughout the treatment area. Those channels begin to stimulate collagen deep in the skin, and the result is better skin tone and texture (more elastic and pliable, like younger skin).
The ablative (surface level) results begin to be visible about 1 week after treatments and the non-ablative (deeper level) results are visible within a few months. Collagen regrowth takes time!
Halo creates beautiful results without the downtime of more aggressive treatments.

What results can I expect?
Halo is a complete skin rejuvenation treatment. You will see improvements in overall tone and texture in addition to significant removal of discoloration, reduction in fine lines, reduced pore size, skin reflectivity and glow.
How many treatments do you need?
What’s great about Halo is that you can choose how many treatments you want! Discuss with your clinician your needs and you can choose to have one or two more aggressive treatments, or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.
What happens during the treatment?
45 minutes to an hour before the treatment your clinician will place a topical anesthetic on your skin to reduce the sensation during the procedure. The area will be measured with motion tracking technology to ensure the area is treated evenly. The clinician will treat each measured section by uniformly rolling the Halo hand piece over the skin until the system recognizes the treatment is complete.
What does Halo feel like?
With a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology, most patients experience very little discomfort. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations, but are generally comfortable. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 15 to 30 minutes, or a bit longer with deeper treatment levels.
How soon after my treatment can I return to normal activities?
For the first 24 hours you should keep your skin protected according to your clinician’s instructions, but after that you should be able to go about your normal activities. After the first 24 hours your skin will begin to peel. For a facial treatment, you will see very little change on the first day. After two to three days you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four your skin will peel, revealing your new skin beneath. You should count on at least 5-7 days of downtime (during which time you will be red, dry and flaky).
When will I see results?
You will see initial results between two and five days after your Halo treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest pigmentary improvement in the first two to three weeks. This is followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months.
How long will my results last?
Our Halo results will last for years to come, but you should continue to keep your skin protected at all times using UV sunscreen to protect your new, healthy skin. Each additional Halo treatment you get will only improve the results, giving you even better looking skin.
