DERMAL FILLERS + SCULPTRA
We offer a variety of dermal fillers for:
Almost all dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a basic element in connective skin tissue, in spinal fluid, in the eyes, and in joints. HA has the ability to draw and hold water and it helps to nourish and moisturize the skin. Unfortunately, hyaluronic acid in the skin, like collagen, diminishes as we age. Because it is a natural substance, when used in a dermal filler, it integrates smoothly into the skin. Dermal fillers give instant results and restore volume and shape to a variety of facial areas.
Dermal filler treatments are relatively pain-free: most have lidocaine mixed in, and a topical numbing cream is applied to the area prior to the injection. Results are immediate.
SCULPTRA is similar to a dermal filler, but gives subtle results over time, rather than immediate results at the time of treatment.
IS ONE FILLER BETTER THAN ANOTHER?
One is not necessarily better than the other, but rather which filler is used is chosen by your injector and depends on multiple factors such as your skin quality (loose or firm), desired results, treatment area, and the molecular makeup up the filler (from thick to thin). There are various molecular formulations of all fillers that lend them to specific cosmetic treatments. Below are the types of fillers we use.
The Juvederm family of products include:
Juvederm Ultra Plus
These are all hyaluronic acid fillers, used to temporarily restore volume to correct facial wrinkles, deep folds, facial lines, enhance the lips, and reshape facial contours.
The Restylane family of products include:
These are all hyaluronic acid fillers specifically formulated to act like your body’s own HA, and they are ideal for visibly reducing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, adding fullness to your lips, mid-face and cheeks. Refyne, Defyne and Kysse have a specific formulation designed to move easily with your expressions.
Sculptra is a unique facial injectable that is unlike the hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers that are commonly used to correct facial volume loss. Sculptra is not a filler, it is a bio-stimulator, made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) which is biodegradable and biocompatible, and has been used in other medical forms, such as dissolvable stitches. PLLA is basically a synthetic form of lactic acid, which is made in our muscles after exercise. Once injected, the PLLA interacts with your own collagen, resulting in increased collagen growth. Sculptra is the only volumizer specifically designed to stimulate your natural collagen production, and clinical studies have shown it can last at least 2 years.
We also offer body treatments with Sculptra: butt lift, and enhancements to the knees, decolletage, and arms.
Correction with Sculptra takes place in a series of treatments. On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of several months. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.
RADIESSE AND BELOTERO
Radiesse is a very unique filler. Unlike most of the other dermal fillers available, Radiesse is not a hyaluronic acid, but rather it is made of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel. What makes Radiesse unique is the ability of the product to act as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow.
Belotero is a very soft dermal filler that allows it to work well in more superficial areas on the face like small lines and creases. By adapting to the individuality of your skin, it softens lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth (lipstick lines) and produces smooth and natural results.
Belotero is also made of hyaluronic acid or HA.
Bellafill previously had an indication for treating nasolabial folds but has now received FDA approval for the treatment of acne scars. It is the ONLY filler on the market approved for the correction of acne scars. It is a safe, simple, treatment we do in the office that offers both immediate and long lasting results. Bellafill is also the only filler available that has been proven to last five years.
