Before scheduling your BBL treatment:

• Discontinue any use of Retin-A, tretinoin, Alpha Ret or other irritating skin care products 3-4 days prior to treatment.

• Melasma patients must be on Hydroquinone for a minimum of 1 month prior to treatment.

• You must avoid prolonged sun exposure for 4-6 weeks before treatment. Not artificial tan at time of treatment.

• If you get fever blisters, antiviral medication may need to be taken (to prevent fever blisters). Take it the day before treatment and continue as directed.

After BBL:

• Avoid over exposure to the sun for 2-4 weeks after treatment. Wear a zinc oxide sunscreen daily and a wide brimmed hat to help protect your skin from daily sun exposure.

• Avoid heat for 1 week (i.e. the sun, saunas, steam rooms, really hot showers).
