Feature on Iris Taylor. "At age 18, I had no idea what I wanted to study in college. I knew that whatever I was going to do for a living for the next 40 or so years needed to be something I was passionate about. But I barely knew myself, much less my passions.
After four years and four majors, I decided that maybe a change of scenery would inspire me. I moved to Austin.
Soon after, my hormones went haywire. I developed acute cystic nodular acne. It was painful, both emotionally and physically.
I could not afford to go to a dermatologist. So, I started experimenting with at-home, so-called remedies. Nothing worked.... A friend of mine mentioned that I should explore Esthetician school. Austin Way hosted an elegant dinner for 150 guests honoring the eight women of power featured in their Late Spring issue. Guests, including our Owner and Founder Stacey Francois, pictured at left, as well as Advanced Aesthetic Injector Iris Taylor, and Spa Director Beth Jarrrett, perused the Umlauf Sculpture Garden while sipping on "tea-tails" from The Marvelous Vintage Tea Party Co., to a soundtrack by Austin Phonography Company.
The outdoor room of influential women sat down to garden-like table settings and were served a three-course dinner from some of Austin's favorite female chefs.
